आय- प्रायः अभिभावक होने वाले दामाद की आय ऐसे बताते हैं, कि साहब बिटिया 'रानी' बनकर रहेगी, मुख्य व्यवसाय के अलावा दूनी ऊपरी कमाई हो जाती है, अतः वास्तविक आय के आधार पर ही विवाह का निर्णय कीजिए।

Income — parents often describe the prospective son-in-law's income saying, 'Sir, our daughter will live like a queen; besides the main business there is double the extra earning.' So make the marriage decision only on the basis of the real income.
