मैं एकाकी एकत्व लिये, एकत्व लिये सब ही आते, तन धन को साथी समझा था पर वे भी छोड़ चले जाते। मेरे न हुये ये मैं इनसे अति भिन्न अखण्ड निराला हूँ, निज में पर से अन्यत्व लिए मैं सम रस पीने वाला हूँ।

I am alone, holding oneness; all come holding their own oneness. I thought body and wealth were my companions, but they too leave and depart. They were never mine; I am utterly distinct from them - whole and apart. Holding my otherness from all else within myself, I am the drinker of the nectar of equanimity.
