पण्डित जगन्मोहनलाल जी मूर्ति खरीदने जयपुर गये, कृष्ण, राम, हनुमान आदि की मूर्ति चार हजार रुपये की थी, एवं महावीर भगवान् की चालीस हजार रुपये की थी, पण्डितजी ने कहा कि जैनियों को लूटते हो, शिल्पी ने कहा अन्य मूर्तियों के दोष को हम रङ्ग में ढँक देते हैं, पर वीतराग मूर्ति के दोष को कहाँ ढँके, जैनियों की मूर्ति दस-बीस पत्थरों में एक बनती है उसकी प्रकार आकिञ्चन्य धर्म में दोषों को स्थान नहीं होता है।

Pandit Jaganmohanlal ji went to Jaipur to buy an idol; an idol of Krishna, Rama or Hanuman cost four thousand rupees, but Lord Mahavir's cost forty thousand. The pandit said, "You are robbing the Jains." The sculptor replied, "For other idols we cover flaws with paint, but in a Vitaraga idol where can we hide a flaw? A Jain idol succeeds only once in ten or twenty stones." Just so, in the dharma of non-possession there is no place for flaws.
