णमो अरहन्ताणं इत्यादि मन्त्र का स्मरण करता हुआ आ रहा था, पाप के उदय से भूखे व्याघ्र ने खा लिया, मन्त्र के प्रभाव से समाधिमरण कर सौधर्म स्वर्ग में महा ऋद्धिधारी देव हुआ।

As he came remembering the mantra 'Namo Arahantanam' and the rest, through the rise of sin a hungry tiger devoured him; but by the power of the mantra he died in equanimity and became a great deity of miraculous power in the Saudharma heaven.
