विविक्तशय्यासन- शून्यगृह, एकान्त स्थान, विकलत्रय, स्त्री-असंयमी पुरूषों के आवागमन से रहित वन खण्ड में ध्यान, अध्ययन करना, पाप से भयभीत श्रावक भी गृह धन्धो से विरक्त होकर जिनालय आदि में साधर्मी के साथ तत्त्व चर्चा, जाप, चिन्तन आदि में समय व्यतीत करता है।

Vivikta-shayyasana: meditating and studying in an empty house, a solitary spot, or a forest free from the movement of women and undisciplined people; even a layman afraid of sin, detached from household affairs, spends time in the temple with fellow devotees in discussion of principles, japa and contemplation.
