मूर्ति बनाते समय शिल्पी पहले मोटे-मोटे पत्थर को अलग करता है, बाद में छोटी हथौड़ी से छोटे-छोटे पत्थर अलग करता है, उसी प्रकार पहले मोटे-मोटे अशुभराग को त्यागना चाहिए फिर सूक्ष्म अशुभराग का त्याग करना चाहिए।

While making a statue the sculptor first removes the large chunks of stone, then with a small hammer chips off the little pieces; likewise one should first give up the gross impure attachments and then give up the subtle impure attachments.
