अंतो णत्थि सुइणं, कालो थोवो वयं च दुम्मेहा। तण्णवरि सिक्खीदव्वं, जं जर मरणं खयं कुणई।।

शास्त्र का पार नहीं है, आयु थोड़ी है एवं हम सब दुर्बुद्धि हैं, इसलिए वह सीख लेना चाहियें जिससे जन्म-मरण का क्षय हो जाए।

The scriptures have no end, life is short, and we are all dull-witted; therefore learn only that by which birth and death are destroyed.
