पिता ने बेटों को बीज दिये और कहा सम्भाल के रखना, एक लड़के ने बेंच दिये, दूसरे ने तिजोरी में रख दिए, तीसरे ने खेत में बो कर सैकड़ों बोरा अनाज बना दिया, कुछ वर्षों बाद पिता ने बेटों से बीज माँगे, तो पहला बाजार दौड़ा, दूसरा तिजोरी में देखने गया तो सड़ गए थे, तीसरे ने खेत में से लाकर पिता का मन जीत लिया, इसी तरह धर्म रूपी बीज को संयम रूपी खेत में बो दो तो अनन्त गुना फलता है।

A father gave his sons seeds to keep safe. One sold them, one locked them in a safe, and one sowed them in a field and made hundreds of sacks of grain. Years later the father asked for the seeds: the first ran to the market, the second found his rotted in the safe, and the third won his father's heart by bringing them from the field. Likewise, sow the seed of dharma in the field of restraint and it yields infinite fruit.
