सेठ की सत्यता- व्यापार हेतु एक सेठ जङ्गल से गुजर रहा था। डांकुओं ने उसे पकड़ लिया सब धन छीन लेने के बाद भी पाँचसौ स्वर्ण मुद्राओं को और माँगा, सेठ ने पत्र लिखा और कहा कि आप इस पत्र को ले जाओ हमारे बेटे से पाँच सौ स्वर्ण मुद्रायें ले आओ। एक व्यक्ति पत्र लेकर गया। उसके बेटे ने पाँचसौ स्वर्ण मुद्रायें दे दी। सभी डाकू प्रसन्न थे लेकिन सेठ उदासीन था, मेरे बेटे ने नकली मुद्रायें दे दी हैं, सेठ पुनः पत्र लिख कर देता है, और डाकुओं से कहता है! असली मुद्रायें ले आओ नहीं तो हमारे ऊपर से विश्वास उठ जायेगा। सेठ की सत्य निष्ठासे डाकुओं का जीवन परिवर्तित हो गया।

A merchant passing through a forest was seized by robbers who, after stripping him of all his wealth, still demanded five hundred more gold coins. He wrote a note asking his son to send them. The son sent the coins, but the merchant grew distressed, realizing his son had sent counterfeit ones; so he wrote again, insisting the robbers be given genuine coins, lest they lose trust in him. The merchant's devotion to truth transformed the robbers' lives.
