अनेकान्त में शान्ति, एकान्त में अशान्ति व विवाद होता है, 'अस्वत्थामा हतो नरो वा कुञ्जरो वा' यह धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर का स्याद्वादी सिद्धान्त था।

In the many-sided view (anekant) there is peace; in one-sided absolutism there is unrest and dispute. 'Ashwatthama is slain—the man or the elephant'—this was Yudhishthira's relativistic (syadvadi) principle.
