कर्म परवशे सान्ते, दुःखैरन्तरितोदये। पाप बीजे सुखेऽनास्था, श्रद्धानाकाङ्क्षणा स्मृता।।

पराधीन, बाधासहित, जिसकी परम्परा टूट जाती है एवं बन्ध का कारण हीनाधिक प्राप्त होने वाला इन्द्रिय विषय जन्य सुख ‘दुःख’ ही है ऐसी श्रद्धा होना निःकाङ्क्षित अङ्ग है।

The pleasure born of the senses — dependent, mixed with hindrance, whose continuity breaks, a cause of bondage, and gained in greater or lesser measure — is really 'sorrow'; holding such conviction is the limb of freedom from craving.
