उदासोऽहम्, दासोऽहम्, सोऽहम्, अहम्। प्राणी पहले संसार शरीर भोगों से उदास होता है फिर पञ्च परमेष्ठी का दास होता है फिर अपने आप को भगवान के समान चिन्तन करता है तब वह मात्र ज्ञायक हो जाता है।

'I am detached, I am the servant, I am That, I am' — A being first grows detached from the world, the body and enjoyments; then becomes a servant of the Five Supreme Beings; then contemplates itself as equal to God; and then becomes the pure Knower alone.
