बूढ़े को घण्टी का सहारा-चौथी मञ्जिल पर बूढ़े पिताजी को रुका दिया एक घण्टी रख दी, छाती के ऊपर छप्पर पर एक रस्सी बाँध दी, उठना हो तो रस्सी का सहारा ले कर उठ जाना, खाने की इच्छा हो तो घण्टी बजा देना, चार साल का बच्चा घण्टी उठा लाया, तीन दिन तक किसी को ख्याल नहीं आया, चौथे दिन बूढ़े पिता की लाश मिली।

'A bell for the old man's support' — an old father was left on the fourth floor with a bell; a rope was tied to the ceiling above his chest so he could rise by it, and he was told to ring the bell if he wished to eat. A four-year-old child carried off the bell; for three days no one gave it a thought, and on the fourth day the old father was found dead.
