कञ्जूस अन्धा होता है, क्योंकि उसे धन के सिवाय कुछ भी दिखाई नहीं देता हैं। फिजूल खर्ची भी अन्धा होता है, वह आज को देखता है कल की नहीं सोचता। रिझाने वाली नारी अन्धी होती है वह बुढ़ापे की झुरियां नहीं देखती। अज्ञानी भी अन्धा होता है क्योंकि उसे कुछ समझ में नहीं आता है।

A miser is blind, for he sees nothing but wealth. A spendthrift is also blind, seeing only today and not thinking of tomorrow. A seductive woman is blind, not seeing the wrinkles of old age. The ignorant too are blind, for they understand nothing.
