विसय कसाओ गाढ़ो, दुस्सुदि दुच्चिन्त दुट्ठगोट्ठि जुदो। उग्गो उम्मग्गपरो उवओगो जस्स सो असुहो।।

विषय कषाय की तीव्रता, खोटे शास्त्रों का अध्ययन, दुर्ध्यान, दुष्ट लोगों की सङ्गति, स्वभाव की तीव्रता और उन्मार्ग में गमन होना अशुभ परिणाम माने जाते हैं इनसे पाप का ही बंध होता है।

Intensity of sense-passions, study of false scriptures, evil meditation, the company of wicked people, harshness of temperament, and treading the wrong path — these are held to be inauspicious dispositions, and from them only the bondage of sin results.
