ज्ञान ही भव का कूल है, ज्ञान ही दु:ख का मूल। राग रहित अनुकूल है राग सहित प्रतिकूल।। चुन-चुन इसमें उचित को, मत चुन अनुचित भूल। सब शास्त्रों का सार है, समता बिन सब धूल।।

Knowledge is the shore of the ocean of existence, yet knowledge is also the root of sorrow — free of attachment it is favourable, bound with attachment it is adverse. Carefully choose the right and never choose the wrong; this is the essence of all scriptures — without equanimity, all is dust.
