अन्यूनमनतिरिक्तं, याथातथ्यं विना च विपरीतात्। नि:सन्देहं वेद्य, दाहुस्तज्ज्ञानमागमिन:।।

न्यूनता रहित, अधिकता रहित, जैसा का तैसा, विपरीतता रहित, सन्देह रहित जानने को गणधर देव सम्यग्ज्ञान कहते हैं। जैसे आगम में 36 इंच लम्बा 24 इञ्च चौड़ा पानी का छन्ना, जिसे दोहरा करने पर सूर्य की किरणे न दिखे ऐसा होना चाहिए, अगर इकहरा से तिहरा से कटे-फटे छेद वाले छन्ने से पानी छाना तो सम्यग्ज्ञान और सम्यक्चारित्र नहीं है।

Knowing a thing without deficiency, without excess, exactly as it is, without error and without doubt — that the Ganadharas call right knowledge. As the scriptures prescribe a water-strainer 36 inches long and 24 wide, folded double so no sunlight passes through; if one filters water with a single-, or triple-layered, torn or holed strainer, there is neither right knowledge nor right conduct.
