पुस्तकस्था तु या विद्या, परहस्ते गतं धनं। कार्यकाले समुत्पन्ने, न सा विद्या न तद् धनं।।

पुस्तक की विद्या और दूसरे को दिया हुआ धन समय आने पर काम में नहीं आता है अत:विद्या को कण्ठस्थ करना चाहिए और धन को पास में रखना चाहिए।

Knowledge left in a book and wealth handed to another are of no use when the time of need arrives; therefore memorise knowledge and keep wealth near at hand.
