इन चार संज्ञाओं की तो सीमा है ये तो शरीर के कमजोर होने पर शान्त हो जायेंगी, पर नाम की संज्ञा इतनी खोटी है कि अंतिम श्वासों तक सताती है कि मेरा नाम हो जाये। इस जीव ने नाम के लिए जितना किया, उसका सौवाँ अंश भी धर्म के लिए किया होता तो नाम हो ही जाता और कर्मातीत हो जाता।

These four instincts have a limit and subside as the body weakens, but the instinct for fame is so vile that it torments one till the final breath with the wish 'let my name endure.' Had this being done even a hundredth of what it did for fame for the sake of dharma, its name would have endured and it would have transcended karma.
