संसार स्वार्थ का है। जब तक पुण्य है, तब तक सब आपके साथ हैं, जैसे ही पुण्य क्षीण हुआ कि क्षणभर में सब छोड़कर चले जायेंगे। नारायण श्रीकृष्ण के वंश को देखो, जिसके यहाँ एक भाई तीर्थंकर हो, एक भाई बलभद्र हो, कामदेव हो, क्या वैभव होगा? क्या आनंद होगा? फिर भी उस क्षण को देखो जब द्वारिका जल रही होगी, वह क्षण कैसा होगा? कौन किसे बचा पाया?

The world runs on self-interest. As long as merit lasts, all are with you; the moment merit wanes, in an instant all abandon you and leave. Look at the lineage of Narayan Shri Krishna—where one brother was a Tirthankar, one a Balbhadra, and a Kamadev: what splendour, what joy there must have been! Yet behold the moment when Dwarka was burning—what a moment that was! Who could save whom?
