एक ओर एक व्यक्ति हो और दूसरी ओर एक समूह हो तो समूह को छोड़कर एक व्यक्ति का ग्रहण करने की इच्छा न करें परन्तु जो एक मनुष्य बहुत मनुष्यों की अपेक्षा गुणों में श्रेष्ठ है और इन दोनों में से एक को ही ग्रहण करना पड़े तो ऐसी स्थिति में कल्याण चाहने वाले पुरुष को उस एक के लिए समूह को त्याग देना चाहिए।

If on one side stands a single person and on the other a group, do not wish to choose the single one over the group; but if that one man is superior in virtue to the many, and one must be chosen, then the seeker of welfare should abandon the group for that one.
