कर्ज होना गृहस्थ का कष्ट है, धन रखना योगियों का कष्ट है, आभूषण धारण करना विधवा का कष्ट है, भागना राजा का कष्ट है, पति का परस्त्री आसक्त होना स्त्री का कष्ट है, पुत्र का कुपुत्र होना माता-पिता का कष्ट है, स्त्री का योग्य न होना पति का कष्ट है और मन में संतोष न होना सभी का कष्ट है।

Debt is the householder's affliction, holding wealth the yogi's, wearing ornaments the widow's, fleeing the king's, a husband's attachment to another woman the wife's, a son turning unworthy the parents', an unworthy wife the husband's — and lack of contentment in the mind is everyone's affliction.
