जिस पुण्य के आवेग में जीव धर्म कार्य को भूल जाये, अहिंसा को भूल जाये, धर्मात्माओं की अवहेलना करने लग जाये, पुण्य क्रिया को भूल जाये वह पुण्य सर्वथा हेय है।

That merit in whose excitement a being forgets righteous deeds, forgets non-violence, begins to disregard the pious, and forgets meritorious action — such merit is wholly to be rejected.
