लक्ष्मी हिंडोले की तरह चंचल है। विषयों से उत्पन्न हुआ सुख अंततः दुःखप्रद है। देह विपत्ति का घर है। अत्यधिक धन मृत्यु का प्रचुर साधन है। संसार अत्यधिक शोकपूर्ण है। स्त्रियाँ अनर्थ की जड़ हैं। फिर भी लोग इस घोर संसार में ही रत रहते हैं। आत्मा में रत नहीं होते यह आश्चर्य है।

Fortune is fickle as a swing. Happiness born of the senses is ultimately painful. The body is a house of calamity. Excessive wealth is an abundant means of death. The world is full of grief. Women are the root of ruin. Yet people remain absorbed in this dreadful world. That they do not become absorbed in the soul is a wonder.
