जगत् में केवल रोने वाले ही पापी नहीं है किन्तु हँसने वाले भी पापी समझिए क्योंकि जैसे उनके अरति शोक मोहनीय पाप का उदय है, इनके भी हास्य, रति, मोहनीय पाप का उदय है, पुण्यात्मा तो वे हैं, जिनकी रुचि परमात्मा या निज शुद्धात्मा में है।

In the world not only the weeping are sinful, but understand the laughing to be sinful too; for just as in the weeping there is the rise of the delusory karma of aversion and grief, in these there is the rise of the delusory karma of laughter and delight. The truly meritorious are those whose delight is in the Supreme or in their own pure soul.
