हे देव! मुझे अनंत दर्शन नहीं आत्म दर्शन की चाह है। धन, वैभव और कीर्ति आदि से अपने को बड़ा मत समझो, वे तो पर वस्तु हैं, अपने को बड़ा समझो अपनी वस्तु अर्थात् दर्शन, ज्ञान और चारित्र की स्वच्छता या वृद्धि से।

O Lord! I long not for infinite perception but for the vision of the soul. Do not think yourself great by wealth, splendour and fame; those are other-substances. Think yourself great by your own — that is, by the clarity or growth of perception, knowledge and conduct.
