गणेशप्रसाद वर्णी जी के पिता जी जन्म से वैष्णव थे, उनकी णमोकार मन्त्र के प्रति बहुत श्रद्धा थी, उन्होंने वर्णीजी से कहा–तुम जैनधर्म नहीं छोड़ना, एक बार जंगल में बैल पर सामान लादकर जा रहे थे और शेर की आवाज आई, सामान उतार कर बैल को भगा दिया, स्वयं माला फेरने लगे, कुछ भी किए बिना ही शेर उनके पास से निकल गया।

Ganesh Prasad Varni's father was a Vaishnava by birth but had great faith in the Namokar Mantra. He told Varni ji—never give up the Jain religion. Once, while travelling through a forest with goods loaded on an ox, a lion roared; he unloaded the goods, drove the ox away, and himself began turning his rosary—and the lion passed by him without doing anything at all.
