ग्वाले ने मुनि के दर्शन कर णमोकार मन्त्र पढ़ने का नियम ले लिया, घर आया पत्नी ने प्रश्न किया तो उसने णमोकार मन्त्र ही पढ़ा, दो चार बार पत्नी ने कुछ पूछा ग्वाले ने हर बार णमोकार मन्त्र ही पढ़ा, पत्नी ने गुस्से में आकर जलती हुई लकड़ी मार दी, णमोकार मन्त्र के प्रभाव से सारे अंगारे मोती बन गये थे।

A cowherd, on seeing a monk, took a vow to recite the Namokar Mantra. When he came home and his wife asked him something, he simply recited the Namokar Mantra; each time she asked, the cowherd again only recited it. Enraged, his wife struck him with a burning piece of wood, but by the power of the Namokar Mantra all the embers turned into pearls.
